Population of Prescott in the 2010 census was officially 39,843. In 2018, the Population of Prescott Estimate is 43,314.
Prescott Population
Back when Prescott was a “Old West”, and mining, town, there weren’t a lot of people around. Through the Great Depression, and World War II, it was tougher to live here, because there was a lack of infrastructure support.
As Prescott became a great place to retire, and the tourist industry started to boom, Prescott started growing in the 1970s, and should continue to grow.

The chart above shows age distribution of the total population. It takes info from 2017, when the total population was 41,468.
I thought it would trend older than average, but there’s a bump of younger people that surprised me, until I realized that we have 3 colleges in Prescott. I wouldn’t call it a “college town”, but there are a bunch of college age people around.
